Stone ornamentation has featured in  fashionable gardens ever since Ancient Greek noble folk expressed devotion to their Gods by commissioning sculptures of the heavenly icons.

During the Italian Renaissance the trend was revitalised, being considered by many to be symbolic of status and wealth. This appealed to the discerning British aristocracy who adopted much of the Renaissance styling in what we now know as the English Formal Garden. 

Here at Warmsworth Stone we have produced a wide variety of sculptured stone garden ornamentation and furniture. 

Planters and troughs, sundials and bird baths are the obvious. We have also carved elaborate garden benches, ornamental bridges, balustrades, tables and gazebos.
